Easy to operate, stable and energy-efficient: The all-round journey of XCMG XCT130G8-1 crane
It is only 2.8 meters wide, yet it dares to tackle tasks weighing hundreds of tons. One of its fuel tanks can last for half a month, but it consumes less fuel than a 50-ton vessel. Experienced workers who have been in the industry for over ten years went from being skeptical to being completely convinced, only lacking one practical operation.
Xugong XCT130G8-1, a four-axle 130-ton crane that has "survived" in complex working conditions through its strength, is now writing its own story at numerous unexpected sites.
The "strongman" in the crowded freight yard
"The vehicle is compact and has a short wheelbase, so it can fit into even narrow sections." The veteran who had worked with cranes for 11 years drove the XCT130G8-1 into the crowded railway container loading and unloading area. The task was: to work in coordination with a 100-ton crane to lift and flip a 100-ton gantry shear, and then load it onto a vehicle for transportation.
Lifting, slewing, and rotating - each step tests the stability and precision. But the master simply said, "The crane is very powerful. There are no difficult points." The confidence comes from the G2 generation micro-motion control - the slewing, hoisting, and slewing speeds can all be adjusted in stages. Even when the boom is extended as far as possible, it can still operate slowly to achieve meticulous results. The 100-ton gantry shear was lifted and landed in one continuous motion.
You've been working for two days, but the oil gauge hasn't moved?
A veteran operator who had driven a 500-ton machine heard that this 130-ton machine was very fuel-efficient. At first, he was skeptical. But when he actually started operating it himself and worked for a whole day, then moved on to the next task, he looked at the fuel gauge and saw that it was "almost not moving".
He did a calculation: Adding 300 liters of fuel can last for half a month, which is 1/3 less than before, equivalent to over 800 yuan. What surprised him even more was that when transferring with heavy loads, it could carry 30 tons of counterweight, saving one cart. "The vehicles saved are revenue-generating!" The profits that the bosses cared about were thus gradually saved bit by bit.
Floating vessels suspended in the muddy ground, safety comes first.
More than 6 tons of floating vessels need to be lifted from 30 meters away. Although the weight is not heavy, the difficulty lies in the possibility that the bottom of the vessel might be stuck by silt. The sudden change in load at the moment of breaking free from the adhesion is the most prone to cause the hook to sway. The anti-sway technology of the XCT130G8-1 hook firmly controls the hook, and the amplitude compensation reduces the impact of the boom deflection on the lifting operation.
The operator exclaimed: "It's truly smooth and effortless to operate!" The spacious cab allowed him to clearly see the lifting points without having to stand up. The job was done beautifully and he didn't suffer any discomfort.
The vehicle with a width of 2.8 meters stands out from the crowd.
For the renovation of a high-rise residential building, a stack of building materials needed to be delivered to the window of the high-rise building. The span was 39 meters. The road at the entrance of the community was narrow, with street trees blocking the way. Even a vehicle of the same tonnage and 3 meters wide couldn't enter. The XCT130G8-1, with a vehicle width of 2.8 meters and a length of 15 meters, managed to pass through.
With a 78-meter main boom and a built-in 30-ton counterweight, the maximum working condition was achieved without the need for a secondary boom. Master Sun lifted 2.5 tons with the entire extended boom and moved it this far for the first time: "There was no shaking during the entire lifting process. The dual-rotating motors were very stable!"
The "lighting technician" of the film and television production base
At the Dacheng Valley Film Base in Hangzhou, a 20-meter-long and 2.5-ton heavy lighting stand needs to be lifted to a height of 46 meters above the building and remain suspended for a full three days. The XCT130G8-1 arrived the day before yesterday and was put into use directly the next day. The oval-shaped cross-section boom frame has an anti-twisting capacity and the built-in vehicle counterweight is sufficient on its own.
The boom is as stable as a rock, and the movements are precise and accurate. Operator Mr. Xu praised: "This is a small-tonnage vehicle with a long boom and heavy counterweight. Doing this job is a piece of cake for it." Crossing from the construction site to the film and television industry, it has used its strength to break through the dimensional barrier.
Three machines working together quietly build a new roof.
The building of Jin Eagle International Shopping Center in Xuzhou has a height exceeding 60 meters. It is a densely populated area and the construction is carried out at night. Three units of XCT130G8-1 operate collaboratively in a mode of "one unloading, one lifting of the crossbeam, and one lifting of the column".

With a fully extended arm of 78 meters, it can easily cover the working area. The hook anti-swing function ensures that the night blind lifting is as stable as a rock. The four-axle body can move freely in busy urban areas. After six consecutive days of operation, it only consumed half a tank of fuel. With low noise, it does not disturb the residents. The site manager, Mr. Chen, said straightforwardly: "Currently, there are only these three units in Xuzhou. They work very smoothly together and we are planning to purchase another one!"
From the narrow alleys of the mountain village to the high-rise buildings of the city, from the muddy swamps to the film and television bases, the XCT130G8-1 demonstrates with its compact body, extreme fuel efficiency, smooth operation and powerful heavy-load transition capabilities that a true solution is never just about stacking parameters, but rather finding the optimal solution in every complex scenario.
What it has opened up is not merely a construction passage, but also a revenue-generating path that boosts the morale of the workers involved in the lifting operation.
