In the first seven months of this year, China's trailer exports to Africa saw a sharp year-on-year increase, making Africa a key strategic overseas market for Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturers.
At a major eastern Chinese port, rows of brand-new container trailers, dump semi-trailers and low-bed semi-trailers stood neatly, waiting to be loaded onto cargo ships bound for Africa. These transport vehicles manufactured in China will sail across the Indian Ocean to power mining operations, engineering projects and logistics services across Africa.

"We have customized and upgraded our products to meet the unique demands of the African market," a senior executive from a well-known Chinese trailer manufacturer told reporters. "We reinforced suspension systems and undercarriage protection to cope with rough road conditions in many parts of Africa. Meanwhile, we have built a more comprehensive after-sales service and spare parts supply network to deliver reliable products and worry-free support for our clients."
Statistics show that Chinese-brand trailers have steadily gained market share across Africa thanks to outstanding cost performance, dependable quality and responsive customer service. Chinese trailers can now be seen traveling across the African continent, from Algeria in North Africa to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, from Kenya, an East African port hub, to Nigeria, a resource-rich West African nation - serving as a vivid testament to deepening China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
Industry analysts noted that the full implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) has created unprecedented opportunities for cross-regional trade and logistics, greatly boosting demand for commercial vehicles, especially trailers. Looking ahead, Chinese trailer brands are poised for brighter prospects in Africa as local production bases, technical research facilities and after-sales service networks continue to be expanded on the continent.
